Connecting people through music
Empowering singers through world music
Joseph To is an award-winning Seattle-based music director, educator, world music advocate, and adjudicator who focuses on connecting people and communities through music
World Choral Music Collection
Joseph strives to select music that represents our musicians. However, it is difficult to locate literature and gain access to published copies or permission to print and use. Therefore, Joseph started this project to build a bridge between choirs and underrepresented composers and music.
As Hong Kong native, Joseph researched and studied ways to teach Chinese choral music to choristers, music educators and choral directors. He specializes in South-East Asian music as well as Norwegian choral music and provide workshops to different school and choirs.

Music in Communities
A vibrant conductor with a passionate commitment to music in the community, Joseph dedicates his time to making music with multiple community choirs and volunteering to work on the race and equity committee in a local youth chorus in Seattle.
“The music master familiarizes children’s minds with rhythms and melodies, thus making them more civilized, more balanced, better adjusted in themselves, and more capable in whatever they say or do, for rhythm and harmony are essential to the whole of life.” —Plato.
